Importing TM Analyses - Principles and Prerequisites

Trados 2007 (also MemoQ)

This is the easiest and most straightforward format to import since it is not modifiable through formatting options from within Trados or MemoQ.

TOM imports the Trados csv report file - one import for each language pair.
This function is only available in the TM calculator screen.
The match categories are fixed.

Trados Studio 2009 - 2014:

Trados Studio is more flexible in terms of match categories issued. The fundamental idea to understand here is that you need to know exactly what you are importing and that the imported format must match the TM format(s) you have defined in TOM. This in particular concerns the match categories that were introduced last by SDL:

- Crossfile repetitions

- Locked Segments

- Internal Fuzzies

So with each TM format that you define you need to declare whether or not the report contains any of these categories.

Please note that TOM expects the set of fuzzy match categories always to be in the format

95-99%
85-94%
75-84%
50-74%.

General

In the TM screen itself xml files are imported one by one for each language pair.
Important  A prerequisite for xml import is a valid file path to an xslt stylesheet file, (e.g. import_Trados2014_AllIncl.xslt ) provided with the TOM installation files and located in the \xslt folder, which is a sub-folder of the Documents folder defined in User Settings > Forms.
Important  The Trados xml files (like Across) contain language codes that allow TOM to determine the language pair and create job items automatically. For this feature to work it is necessary to fill in the language codes in the code list in User Settings > Sources > Languages.
